International REALTOR® Members all over the Philippines who are affiliated with the Chicago-based National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) – U.S.A. convened in the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Paranaque, Cebu and Manila last February 23, 24, 25 and 29, respectively, for a forum series entitled, “Grow your Global Business.”

The activities were spearheaded by the Chamber of Real Estate & Builders’ Associations, Inc. (CREBA), the exclusive bilateral partner of NAR in the Philippines since 2011.

NAR is “The Voice for Real Estate” representing over 1 million members in the United States including 81 bilateral partners in 60 countries around the globe. NAR hailed the International REALTOR® Members (IRM) in the Philippines as the biggest in Asia, and the second biggest in the world next to Mexico, among countries outside the United States.

Jennifer Tasto, NAR Presidents’ Liaison to the Philippines presented the global opportunities available for real estate professionals in countries where NAR maintains Bilateral Agreements with its cooperating associations.

Ms.Tasto was 2012-2013 chairman of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® Global Business Council and the 2010 President of the San Mateo County Association of REALTORS® in California. She is also an NAR-certified instructor for  AHWD or “At Home With Diversity.”

NAR-certified IRMs enjoy exclusive right to use the distinctive and globally recognized REALTOR® trademark and logo, access to the largest online real estate library in the world, a searchable international brokers directory and other tools proven to leverage real estate professionals in international business, among many other membership benefits. Ms. Tasto announced that as a team, NAR and CREBA will introduce more programs to make the IRM experience even more exciting and productive for Filipino property professionals.

CREBA National President Charlie A.V. Gorayeb emphasized the global character real estate business has to be undertaken these days. Real estate professionals, they said, need a trusted global ally, which NAR embodies, to “reinforce our steps in conducting our business in a world without borders”.

According to Gorayeb, being a REALTOR® sets one real estate professional from the rest. “Every IRM must learn and appreciate the IRM Global Advantage and use it to further his profession”, he concluded.

Since 2011, Gorayeb has led the Philippine delegation in the Annual REALTORS® Conference and Expo held in various major cities in the US.

Members of the NAR Global Alliances Philippines Committee headed by Evangeline A. Yia, George William Mendoza, Alejandro Mañalac, Manuel Alleje, Eleanor Liganor, Dr. Ma. Lourdes Monteverde and Gigi Roa are behind the endeavour.

The forum was supported by two major sponsors who are among the country’s top real estate developers: Century Properties, Inc. and Morningfields.

Other sponsors include Camella Homes, Pueblo de Oro, Abrown Xavier Estate,  Filinvest Inc., Cebu Landmasters Inc., AppleOne Properties Inc. and Leuterio Realty.
